Useful shortcuts in StoryMaker: Pressing the Esc key while the introductory music is playing takes you past the opening screens of StoryMaker. When working with lists - such as the list of reinforcements or the list of words in the database - when the mouse is over the list, pressing a keyboard letter takes you to the part of the list beginning with that letter. When a video is being played as a page or book reinforcement, clicking the right mouse button terminates playing the video. If you want to create an added words which is made up of two or more words (such as "Mary Ann") use an underscore (_) rather than a space between the words and StoryMaker will treat it as one word unit. The quickest way to add new words to a child's dictionary is to display the list of all available words and right click on any word you want in the child's dictionary. You will then be given the option of adding that word to the child's dictionary.

This probably is a result of using your own pictures with sentences or books and these being too large for the print engine to process them properly. Download the latest version of StoryMaker 3 and edit your books and replace the pictures - StoryMaker will offer to resize them for you if they are too large. This should solve the problem. You will need to own StoryMaker 3 to get this update.
If you have an earlier version, either purchase StoryMaker 3 or resize the pictures yourself and ensure they are no larger than 1024 pixels wide and/or 768 pixels high.

Just add the word as a custom word and record a sound for it but do not associate a picture with it.

The picture for the singular form of the word in the database (if there is one) will automatically be offered when no picture is detected associated with the plural form of the word. This is also true for words you have added.
